چکیده

Chlorella vulqaris is a unicellular microorganism that offers health benefits due to its concentrated antioxidant production. This microalga has received huge attention natural antioxidative property as an alternative source because of rapid growth, easy and flexible culture. Research date only focuses on the growth production in selected phase, especially exponential stationary phases; however, so far, limited reports antioxidants all phases C. vulgaris. Thus, this study determines enzymatic (Catalase, CAT; Ascorbate Peroxidase, APX; guaiacol peroxidase, gPOD) specific activities amount non-enzymatic (a-tocopherol, ascorbic acid carotenoids) vulgaris five phases. was cultured F/2 medium at 25±2 °C under laboratory conditions. CAT were highest phase (1.50±0.08 units/mg protein), whereas APX gPOD induced lag 37.13±4.93 protein 1.31±0.03 protein, respectively. The a-tocopherol accumulated (97.3±4.18 µg/g.fwt), (266.67±22.22 µg/g.fwt) carotenoids (8.16±2.52 decline phase. Production microalgae cells indicated they efficiently scavenged reactive oxygen species (ROS) converted them into less harmful substances. In addition, these different can be used guideline produce massive antioxidants, which commercialized food pharmaceutical industries.

Growth and biochemical composition of Chlorella vulgaris in different growth media.

The need for clean and low-cost algae production demands for investigations on algal physiological response under different growth conditions. In this research, we investigated the growth, biomass production and biochemical composition of Chlorella vulgaris using semi-continuous cultures employing three growth media (LC Oligo, Chu 10 and WC media). The highest cell density was obtained in LC Ol...

Antioxidative Responses of Eucalyptus camaldulensis to Different Concentrations of Copper

Anthropogenic activities have caused important increases in soil Cu levels not only in urban areas but also in croplands. This study was designed to find out the effect of different concentration of copper on physiological and biochemical changes in Eucalyptus camaldulensis seedlings. Seeds of Eucalyptus camaldulensis were grown in marble chips and irrigated with nutrient solution mixed with co...

The effect of Melatonin pretreatment on growth responses and enhancement of the enzymatic antioxidant system in Chlorella vulgaris under stress of ionizing radiation

Melatonin as a compound made by photosynthetic organizers protects them against many environmental stresses. Modulating mechanisms of melatonin, as a protector are not well known in early eukaryotes, such as algae. In this research, the effect of melatonin pre-treatment on evaluating Chlorella vulgaris resistance to gamma ionizing radiation was investigated. The results showed that 100 µM conce...

The Use of Chlorella Vulgaris to Accumulate Magnesium under Different Culture Conditions

We investigated magnesium (Mg2+) ion uptake by Chlorella vulgaris under mixotrophic growth conditions (10 g/L of glucose) in a stirred photo-bioreactor. The culture nitrate and glucose consumptions were followed and analyzed during the experiments. The cellular chlorophyll α concentration decreased during exponential growth, indicating an adaptation to heterotrophic metabolism. The partition of...

Effect of Arsenic Toxicity under Different Nitrogen Regime on Nitrate Uptake in Chlorella Vulgaris

Received: 17, March, 2015 Final Accepted: 17, April, 2015 Published Online: 25, April, 2015 This study examined the effect of 25.0 and 50.0 μM arsenic (As) on nitrate uptake in Chlorella vulgaris when grown under different nitrogen regime. The changes in nitrate uptake of test alga exposed to As under different N regimes show that the control cultures of test alga showed maximum nitrate uptake ...
